Located in the heart of the city, Capsa Hotel combines modern convenience with classic 19th century elegance. Its splendid facade features old architectural style while the interior is decorated with marble, crystal and silk brocade. Established in 1852, Casa Capsa (restaurant, hotel, cafe and confectionery) has been, from its very beginning, the symbol of Romanian high-life. The founder, Grigore Capsa (1841-1902) created here an atmosphere of the highest standards of quality and refinement. Capsa Hotel opened in 1886, under the French manager Bourdell and became the most elegant Romanian hotel of the time. In 1908, a prestigious British lifestyle magazine compared Capsa Hotel with the highest rated European hotels of the time. The hotel was completely renovated during 1999-2002, being kept most of the original architectural details. The hotel boasts a total of 60 guest rooms.
