If you would like to enjoy Rîga's history, you will receive the warmest welcomes at this historic hotel which occupies two stories of the house where Rîga's first hostel for visitors to the city opened in 1435. The homely and romantic hotel with its eleven elegantly designed rooms is named after a former Bürgermeister of Rîga, Nikolaus Eke. This is the house where he installed a boarding house at the end of the 16th century for widows of the city's craftsmen who saw out their retirement here for more than 300 years. The hotel retains its impressive vaults, ancient facade and the authentic roughness of its walls.
