The 65 buildings of the hotel are the largest exhibit of the Museum Kurá Hulanda, a superb collection of 18th and 19th century architecture. This Dutch colonial historic district is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The luxurious resort comprises a total of 80 rooms is part of the Kura Hulanda village project, an intiative by Jacob Gelt Dekker. This historical and environmentally-friendly project was funded by the Jade Foundation, founded by Jacob Gelt Dekker und John Padget. Opened on 1st November 2001, the luxurious boutique resort includes a cloakroom, a small supermarket, a hairdresser, a bar, a casino, a restaurant, public Internet access, room service, and parking for those arriving by car.
