The Nelligan Hotel is a boutique style hotel concept with 63 comfortable and spacious rooms. The décor is contemporary while managing to maintain the traditional Old Montreal architecture. Stone and brick walls set the tone for the rooms which are furnished in a sober yet modern fashion. The design of the Nelligan is collaboration between CAMDI International and CDID Design of Montreal.
The fireplaces in many rooms, the dark wood furniture and custom warm linens create an atmosphere of comfort unlike anywhere else. The spacious washrooms are both well equipped and practical. On the walls, passages of Emile Nelligan’s most beautiful poems are transcribed immersing us in Quebec culture. The Nelligan Hotel in its entirety conveys the elegance and warmth of Old Montreal. The entrance hall consists of four distinct areas, each one open and leading one into the other.

Nestled in the 19th century building housing the Nelligan Hotel, Verses Restaurant has already become one of Old Montreal's hippest new restaurants. With a contemporary French cuisine assembling Quebec's finest meats and fresh produce, the menu is composed of such specialties as marinated duck breast, Quebec lamb three ways, and rack of deer.
Large windows open onto Saint-Paul, allowing the natural light to flow into the dining room, which is furnished with curved red banquettes and dark wood chairs. The stone and brick walls are complemented by long flowing curtains, dark wood paneling, large 10-foot mirrors, and an impressive glass wine cellar. With its Old Montreal charm and modern décor, Verses is the perfect setting to enjoy outstanding cuisine, morning, noon and night.
One of Old Montreal’s hottest spots from the moment it opened, Verses Bar is where hotel guests, American travelers, and the local “cinq-à -sept†crowd converge to enjoy cocktails underneath the stars in Hotel Nelligan’s magnificent inner courtyard, furnished with marble tables and rattan chairs. Martinis are definitely on the bill at Verses. Made with freshly squeezed juices, they are served in frosted cocktail shakers and poured into bird-bath-sized martini glasses right in front of you. In the summer, Verses cocktails can also be sipped on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Saint-Lawrence River. Verses Bar is the perfect place for drinks, lively conversation, people-watching, and experiencing the undeniable revival of Old Montreal.
